Jess Erickson
Founder at Geekettes

Jessica Erickson is the Founder of Geekettes, an organization uniting, mentoring and promoting women in tech of worldwide. She has the amazing opportunity of interacting with some of the smartest entrepreneurs, hackers and designers in Europe. In her spare time she mentors with three Berlin-based accelerator programs: hub:arum, Microsoft Ventures & Startupbootcamp. Jessica holds a MSc in Media and Communications from the London School of Economics.

Pascal Finette

Pascal Finette
Head of Google Giving, Entrepreneur and founder at ten|x

Pascal Finette is the founder of ten|x, an advisory and business development firm specializing in open innovation and entrepreneurship. Before, he led the Mozilla Labs and created Mozilla's accelerator program WebFWD. Prior to Mozilla, he led eBay's Platform Solutions Group, launched a consulting practice to help entrepreneurs with their strategy & operations and invested into startups. Pascal frequently consults Fortune 500 companies on Open Innovation, mentors entrepreneurs at TechStars, Seedcamp, The Unreasonable Institute and many other places.

Jon Bradford

Jon Bradford is the Managing Director at Techstars, a mentorship-driven seed stage investment program. Prior he was responsible for managing and running the Springboard startup accelerator. He is also the Founder and CEO of the Difference Engine and prior to this, he was the Investment Manager at the Design and Creative Fund for North East Finance. Jon has spent most of the last ten years working in and around start-ups; both for advisory firms and venture capital backed start-ups, including an Oxford university spin-out.

Roxanne Varza

Roxanne Varza currently leads Microsoft's startup activities in France, running both Bizspark and Microsoft Ventures programs. In April 2013, Business Insider listed her as one of the top 30 women under 30 in tech. Prior to Microsoft, she worked for several European startups and was also the Editor of TechCrunch France. She also co-founded the French and British chapters of Girls in Tech and is the co-organizer of the Failcon Paris conference. More recently, she co-founded Tech.eu, a European tech publication. Prior to TechCrunch, Roxanne worked for the French government's foreign direct investment agency in San Francisco helping fast-growing startups develop their activities in France

Alex Farcet

Alex Farcet
Co-Founder and Managing Director of Startupbootcamp

Alex is a partner at Rainmaking and Co-founder and Managing Director of Startupbootcamp - a European startup accelerator with programs in Berlin, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Eindhoven, London, Istanbul, Tel Aviv and Haifa. He co-founded the Rainmaking Loft Berlin, an elite tech and investor co-working space. Alex drives angel investor growth with Angelsbootcamp, whose objective is to motivate and educate 1000 new angel investors in Europe. He is a partner at Venture Scout, an startup & innovation sourcing consultancy for corporates. Finally, Alex is an active Startup Weekend organiser in the Nordics and Africa and sits on the board of the Global Accelerator Network.

Glen Mehn is a partner at Bethnal Green Ventures (BGV), Europe's first social investment accelerator. He has designed and run innovation programmes for early-stage start-ups in over 20 countries with diverse clients such as UNDP and the British Council. He has spent nearly 20 years in early stage businesses, ranging from a mobile banking start-ups in Zambia to genotyping and drug development in Silicon Valley. Glen is a trustee for Appfrica, a school governor for St John’s Angell Town primary school, on the advisory board for In the Picture and a trustee for The Kitschies. He holds a BA in English Literature and Sociology from the University of New Orleans and an MBA from the University of Oxford.

Gaurav Singh

Gaurav Singh
Head of Investment Management at hub:raum

Gaurav studied Management, Computer Science and Systems Engineering at Stanford University, the University of Oxford and Hasso-Plattner-Institute. He gained international work experience in business development, cross-functional project management, strategy consulting, entrepreneurship and online marketing at SAP, Mozilla, Booz & Co and be2. After developing Deutsche Telekom AG's digital portfolio strategy, he is now heading two teams to generate new business with startups, by closing investments at the hub:raum incubator in Berlin and creating synergies for DT's business units.

 

Ricardo Marvão

Ricardo Marvão is Co-Founder & Board Member of Beta-i (a non-profit built by entrepreneurs to help the next generation of entrepreneurs), as well as product deputy of the Lisbon Challenge startup accelerator. He also co-founded and was the CEO of Evolve Space Solutions, one of the first Portuguese startups providing software products and services for the major European space agencies and aerospace companies, that was later acquired by Novabase (the biggest Portuguese IT company, in Euronext Index). Ricardo was Manager for the Aerospace department at Novabase until early 2013.

Martin Bryant is Editor-in-Chief at The Next Web, one of the world's leading publications on Internet technology, business and culture. Based in Manchester, UK, he is also active on the local technology scene, having co-founded TechHub Manchester, a community space for the city's startups.

Michael Backes

Michael Backes calls himself an entrepreneur and Techie building new companies. He is managing director at the Liquid Labs GmbH, where he makes use of his previous experience in building internet platforms and in as a VC.

Michael also shares his passion and entrepreneurial expertise with startups as a Mentor for established accelerator programs such as Startupbootcamp and Innovation Camp.

Benjamin Rohé

Philipp Moehring

Responsible for all things Europe at AngelList

Philipp is responsible for all things Europe at AngelList. He’s helping startups to connect to the best investors, and to hire talent through the platform. Previously he was a Principal at Seedcamp, Europe’s premier startup accelerator, and a VC at DuMont Venture.

As such, he’s been involved in the funding and growth of more than 120 technology startups across all of Europe, and has gained deep insights into the challenges founders face when building fast growing businesses.

Scott Sage
Partner at DFJ Esprit

Scott is based in the London office of DFJ Esprit, a Pan European VC firm with over $1b in assets under management. Scott invests into mobile, consumer internet and enterprise software companies. He currently works with Lyst, SportPursuit, Conversocial, Datahug, Bitbar and TrustPilot. Previously, Scott worked in research, marketing, business development and finance roles at Dashboard Ventures, UBS, BVCA and Smarkets. He is also an active business angel and advisor to startups in Europe and North America and co-founded City Meets Tech in London.

William McQuillan

William McQuillan
Partner at Frontline Ventures

William is a Partner at Frontline Ventures, a new early stage technology focused venture capital firm. He was the Co-Founder and CEO of Osmoda.com and one of the founding employees of Ondra Partners, a start-up investment-banking boutique. Ondra grew from a four-person team to being a profitable company, working on some of the largest mergers and acquisitions in Europe and having over 50 people in London, New York and Paris. William is passionate about entrepreneurship, was the London Ambassador for the Sandbox Network for over 3 years and continues to be a mentor to several start-up incubators, including Tech Stars, Seedcamp and Wayra. He is also a keen adventure traveller and extreme sport enthusiast.

He is a hands-on entrepreneur and experienced executive with over 15 years of working in web-related companies in verticals such as Casual Social Games, Interactive TV, Mobile, Classifieds Publishing, SEO and Legacy Software Modernisation in the UK and Ireland. Julian started EC1 Capital because we are living in an extraordinary pivotal time as we move quickly from an analog to a purely digitial society. The age of mobile is finally upon us, information is eating everything, legacy businesses are being disrupted. The massively falling costs of starting a tech company have created a market for EC1 Capital to invest in promising technology startups.

Bindi Karia

Bindi Karia
Vice President at Silicon Valley Bank

Bindi currently leads Silicon Valley Bank’s early stage efforts in Europe as Vice President – Entrepreneur Banking. She is incredibly passionate about all things startup in Europe. Having devoted much of her career in and around the startup ecosystem, most recently as the Venture Capital/Emerging Business lead at Microsoft UK where for five years, she lead BizSpark (now Microsoft Ventures) in the UK. She sits on many Industry Advisory Boards, and has recently been appointed a trustee for Up Global. Bindi is an active mentor and supporter at some top London Incubators including Seedcamp, TechStars, Startupbootcamp, WAYRA, JLab, Microsoft Ventures & Level39.

Anna Sofat

Anna Sofat is a preeminent wealth adviser.  She founded the predecessor to Addidi in 2006 and has been advising clients for the past 20 years. She was nominated one of the 2012 Top 100 Adviser by the New Model Adviser. She enjoys working with clients of all shape and size, creating financial solutions that help them to live a rich life, in all its kaleidoscopic colour! Away from work, she is married and a mother of two girls. Her interests are her family, travel and current affairs. She has previously been immersed in her local community by serving as an elected Councillor on Rochester City Council and Halling Parish Council.

Tobias Stone

Tobias Stone

Tobias is an entrepreneur, who has worked in the technology and finance sectors for many years. He worked for a year as an independent policy advisor to the UK Government, in the Cabinet Office (Office of the e-Envoy) and the Department for Trade & Industry, researching and developing policy in business support and innovation. Tobias lived in Eastern Europe for over a decade, where he gained a lot of experience bridging between the West and East, fundraising, structuring investment, start-ups, and innovation. He is an active mentor, at StartupBootcamp, Seedcamp, Buildit (Estonia), Bizoo (Bosnia) amongst others and has a particular interest in medical startups and hardware. Tobias is launching a specialist medtech accelerator later this year and is a Research Fellow at the University of Huddersfield, specialising in accelerators. 

Seth Pierrepont

Seth joined Accel in 2013. Prior to Accel, Seth worked at Vision Capital, an international private equity firm, where he focused on assessing new investment opportunities and overseeing the performance of existing portfolio companies. Seth began his career as a strategy consultant at Oliver Wyman, working in both the San Francisco and London offices and focusing on the media, technology, and retail sectors. Having grown up in the Chicago area, he has also lived in China, India, and Europe. Seth completed his Masters degree in Engineering Management at Dartmouth College. He also holds undergraduate degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Mathematical Sciences and graduated magna cum laude.

Ophelia Brown

Ophelia Brown

Ophelia joined Index in 2012. She has a particular interest in financial services, data & analytics, healthcare and gaming, across all stages. She works most closely with Big Health, Futurelytics, Novus, onefinestay, Robinhood, Socialbakers and Supercell. Prior to Index, she spent three years in Securities Division at Goldman Sachs in London. Ophelia graduated from New College, Oxford with a BA in Classics and holds an MBA from INSEAD.

Rob is a Principal at Balderton Capital, which he joined in 2009 from Google. Wayne Gibbins

Wayne is an associate at Notion Capital, an entrepreneur backed venture capital firm focused on high potential businesses in the Cloud Computing and Software-as-as-Service (SaaS) markets. He describes himself as a marketing and communications professional passionate about digital communications, broader technology and web/mobile start-ups. Wayne always worked in the web and technology sector, from tech startups to companies with a global footprint and international clients, across a variety of roles from a starting point as a programmer and software architect through product management, marketing, partnerships and communications.

John Henderson

John Henderson
Principal at White Star Capital

John is a Principal at White Star Capital where he focuses primarily on seed and early stage companies in the following areas: mobile, data, marketplaces, gaming and digital currency. Prior to joining White Star Capital, John was the COO at Summly, a news summarisation and aggregation app which was acquired by Yahoo! in April 2013.

John has also held roles in strategy and business development at Facebook, as a strategy consultant at The Boston Consulting Group and as a lawyer at Allens-Linklaters. Based out of London, John invests in early stage companies across Europe.

Pradeep Raman

Pradeep is investor at Forward Partners. He started his first company at 17, which he ran with a school colleague for nearly six years and then sold successfully. He was CEO and Co-founder of various IT companies before going into the VC sector in 2011.
